Community Outreach
Giving back within the Twin Cities

At Unison, we strongly believe in giving back to our local community and fostering a culture of service.   As a company we support a variety of local oraganizations and provide opportunities for our employees to take part in volunteer activities.   Read below about a few of our recent activities.

The Southside Family Nurturing Center was founded in 1974 on the belief that child abuse and neglect are preventable.  They currently serve approximately 100 families with 130-160 children each year in the Phillips neighborhood of South Minneapolis.  In the summer of 2011, the employees of Unison volunteered to help Southside update portions of its center.  In doing so, our employees spent the day working in unison with members of the Southside Family Nurturing Center painting an office and a five story stairwell.

The Hope Chest for Breast Cancer was founded in 2001.  Celebrating their 10-year anniversary
in 2011 marked a milestone of providing $1,000,000 in support to breast cancer patients and their families in the Twin Cities area.  In 2012, Unison volunteered at an annual fund raising event for the Hope Chest.  Unison staff helped set-up before the event and sell raffle tickets and calendars throughout the evening.

The mission of Mount Olivet Rolling Acres is to provide persons with developmental and other disabilities the residential facilities, care and services that will meet their physical, spiritual and psychosocial needs in order that they will realize a quality of life that is valued by society.  Each summer employees of Unison participate in the annual Rolling Acres golf scramble.  Funds from the scramble support community homes and on-campus housing, crisis services, and other programs like the assistive computer lab that enhances the lives of the people the organization serves.
