What are the Parts of Medicare? There are four main parts to Medicare: Part A (Hospital Insurance) Part B (Medical Insurance) Part C (Medicare Advantage) Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage)
Original Medicare Original Medicare includes Part A and Part B. If you feel it is needed, Part D can be added to your plan to cover prescriptions.
Medicare Supplement To help pay for expenses not covered by Original Medicare, you can purchase a private Medicare Supplement policy ("Medigap" Plan). The supplmental plan covers costs such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. At Unison we have a liscensed agent for many of the insurance companies in Minnesota, allowing us to independetly help you review the supplment plans available.
Medicare Advantage Medicare Advantage Plans usually combines Part A and Part B. Often, the plan will also include a Part D Prescription Drug Coverage. Medicare Advantage plan can be purchased through private approved companies.
